General Summary:
The Payroll & Labor Specialist is responsible for payroll preparation and processing, labor management system administration, and for specified finance/accounting related activities for all entities. The person in this role provides professional and confidential support to the Finance and HR teams, and to leadership. Primary Position Responsibilities:
- Prep for, enter and process bi-weekly payroll for all entities utilizing ADP Workforce Now.
- Maintain payroll system and records to reflect employee changes and updates.
- Administer and maintain electronic scheduling system (MakeShift).
- Assist with processing of employee separations, preparing manual checks and updating systems
- Handle daily cash collection and reconciliation of cash drops, manage replenishment and preparation of cash banks property wide.
- Assist in the implementation and administration of the property-wide labor management system
- Manage the integrity and accuracy of the labor management system and become the subject matter expert for this system
- Provide labor management support, preparing and ensuring the accuracy of regular labor/operating reports for all departments/entities
- Provide payroll and other reports required or requested by management and leadership
- Assist in providing information in preparation for internal and external audits
- Respond to employee requests and questions in a timely manner
- Support team members and functions with Finance and HR,
- Effectively manage multiple deadlines, priorities and interruptions, and adapt to changing business, customer and company needs
- Perform full-time work on a consistent basis for continuity of operations and achievement of stellar results
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience:
College degree preferred, or equivalent experience
Multi-year experience in full-cycle payroll processing, electronic timekeeping, compliance, labor analysis and reporting required
Knowledge of general payroll, accounting/finance and human resources policies, procedures and best practices, financial aptitude, and familiarity with state and federal payroll and employment laws
Prior experience successfully partnering with third party vendors/administrators
Proven ability to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation; high ethical standards
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the company
Strong computer skills and literacy; experience with payroll/HRIS software
Stellar organizational skills, detail orientation and follow-through
Proven ability to work well under time constraints and resolve problems effectively
Professional appearance and pleasant demeanor
Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work well independently, and in a task-oriented, team environment
Ability to flex schedule as needed to support business needs
Spanish language proficiency a plus
Compensation: $20 - $25 per hour
