    When surveyed, 67% of people who are paid competitively felt that they were not paid
    competitively. So what gives? Building, communicating and designing a compensation
    philosophy for an organization is hard, but important, work. In this session we will learn the
    process for drafting a compensation philosophy, gaining Executive buy-in, defining and
    communicating total compensation and building confidence in your compensation data for the
    tough conversations surrounding compensation.

    Ellen Raim has built and led HR teams at multiple fast-growing, global companies, including
    Nautilus (home fitness equipment), Intel and several other tech businesses. Her focus is to
    transform HR from an administrative function to a strategic enabler by rapidly building people
    systems and infrastructure to drive cost savings while increasing diversity and ensuring equity.
    With degrees in Law, Behavioral Economics and Organizational Design, she’s led successful
    change management initiatives, driven operational excellence, and built programs that drive
    well-being and growth of employees. She now runs PEOPLE MATTER, a consulting business
    based in Portland, and works with early-career and small HR departments to achieve great
    business results.
